Paper review
- A paper review includes two parts: a written review and a question. Both will be due one day before the class.
- Written review: Each class has two required readings. You will need to pick one paper from these two to write the review.
- The paper reviews follow a combination of the review form from the RSS conference and the NeurIPS conference. Please check the Canvas Assignments submission page for the review questions.
- Please submit your reviews on Canvas to the corresponding assignments.
- Question: You will need to post at least one question to Piazza. It can be a question about a specific paper or a question you want to have open discussions.
- Each written review will be 2% of the total grade. Each question will be 0.5% of the total grade. In total, 12 written reviews and questions are required.
- There are more than 12 presentation classes. You can skip some reviews based on your personal schedule/constraints.
- If you submit more than 12 written reviews and questions, we will take the top-12 for the final grade.
- The reviews and questions will be graded based on the relevancy, level of understanding, and quality of the analysis for the selected paper.

💡 Use of ChatGPT or Generative AI: If you use ChatGPT or any generative AI product to help write your review, you will need to indicate the usage in your review form and include your prompts. We encourage you to use ChatGPT to improve your writing (e.g., grammar or presentation). However, we strongly discourage you to use ChatGPT to generate the reviews. If you use ChatGPT to generate your reviews, you will need to add your comments or analysis on whether you agree with the generated reviews. Failure to indicate your use and provide analysis will give you zero points for the submitted review/question.

Late policy
- Failure to email the slides on time will incur a 10% deduction on the score for each late date. For example, 10% for 1 day, 20% for 2 days, etc.
- We do not accept late submissions for paper review as we expect students to have their individual evaluations before participating in in-class presentations and discussions.
